MOVIE REVIEW.

Some will kill to have it. He will kill to protect it.

THE BOOK OF ELI

Cast:
Denzel Washington, Gary Oldman, Mila Kunis.

Yes yes, a pretty old film, but a good one whatsoever! After an apocalypse, the world is left barren and bare. People scavenge for things that were once used by the previous "generation". Denzel Washington plays Eli, a "Walker", whose objective is to travel West in order to pass on his "book" to people who will keep it safe. In his way, stands a collector of books, Carnegie (Gary Oldman). He will do everything in his power to find the Book that Eli has, and when Eli stumbles into his town, it is revealed to Carnegie that Eli has it.
Well, long story short, its pretty much your average post-apocalyptic story about the main character with a goal to restore man-kind. And that is what the Book does.
The movie is action packed. You picture Eli as a god, untouchable and invincible. He has the skills of an assassin but the heart of an average person. An example of this is when Eli finds new boots, tries them on, and says "Nice nice", whilst smiling. Hehehe, it was so funny. And he listens to music! He was listening to "How to mend a broken heart" which would suggest that he is a lonely person? The character has a sense of reality to it and i think that that is what makes the movie a good one.
The Book turns out to be the Bible!! A major twist! Yeah, and its the only bible alive (umm..) as all the rest were either burned during the apocalypse or destroyed by people who thought that its power was too strong. Its power to provide hope to the people. And theres another twist in the Bible, but you should watch it to see!
I recommend this movie to people who liked............ Kill Bill, Constatine, Resident Evil and.. just all the actiony, apocalyptic stuff :L
